The first annual Bike Ride benefit was a huge success.
Our inaugural fundraiser, the First Annual Courage in Motion Bike Ride held in Naples on March 28 at North Collier Regional Park was successful beyond our expectations! We had over 200 riders register for the 2 mile Family Ride, 10, 28, 42 and 62 mile rides. The breakfast and lunch buffets provided by local restaurants was “the best ever seen at a bike event in South Florida” and we had numerous area bike club members tell us we had completely “raised the bar” for cycling events here.
In addition to the huge hot & cold food buffets, we had children’s events including a bounce house, popcorn and sno-cone machines, face painting and craft projects along the 2 mile family ride and a Children’s Bike Safety clinic sponsored by the Collier County Sheriff’s Dept. The North Naples Fire Dept. also provided a fire engine for the kids to explore and ride.
Our international Hotel Travel Auction featuring hotel stays from Taj Hotels Mumbai & Jodhpur, India to a 4 night Sonesta cruise on The Nile River was truly exciting and made over $7,000 for the foundation. Other hotel packages included: The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, Westin Bayshore Vancouver, Mandarin Oriental San Francisco, The Resort at Pelican Hill Newport Coast, Four Seasons Jackson Hole, California Health & Longevity Institute at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Naples, Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, Pan Pacific Bangkok, Parkroyal Singapore, Omni Orlando at Champion’s Gate, Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac Quebec City, The Naples Grande Resort, Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa, Inter-Continental Montelucia Scottsdale, and Hilton Orlando.
